Come and join us at the National Spcae Museum in Leicster on the weekend of the 18th and 19th July. We will be there along with members of the Brickish Association displaying some amazing models to celebrate 40 years since Man walked on the Moon. We will be selling some of the Brickarms range as well as some of our stock from the Bricklink shop. We will also have a selection of minifigures on display showing the range of space figs created by Lego over the last 30 years.

It was my great pleasure to to be able to get to Leicester on Sunday and meet two really lovely people. Andy and Ann gave me a very warm welcome and it was great to put faces to names whilst purchasing essential supplies. The show itself was focused on the Space theme with some impressive displays of MOC's and collaborative builds that I will try and share the pictures of.

Minifigforlife were doing a great job of flying the flag for Brickarms and the number of people buying our favourite accessory was very pleasing to see. It seems to be a great lure to attract people back into the hobby, whether that is children that had previously dismissed lego in favor of computer games and find that adding more realistic accessories opens up new possibilities, or AFOL's like myself who needed that extra little spark to come out of my dark ages.

The minifig display was also a great visual representation of a timeline that made me more than a little conscious of my age as I recognised the whole range.

Once again I would like to thank Andy and Ann for being so welcoming and I look forward to seeing them in the future. What I would also say is that any UK members of this forum that have the opportunity to attend an event like this should do so... not only is it better to see the creations up close and personal, but it is hugely rewarding to actually meet the people (plus I could do with some reinforcements when it comes to discussing customisation with ardent purists ;-))

Would have loved to have been there Jas, and am truly sorry to have missed the opportunity to meet Andy and Ann.

Right up to Saturday I was trying to Finangle a way to rustle up some instant funds AND reinforcements for my wife, what with our toddler and newborn to look after. Alas, neither materialised and my supplies will have to wait for post-payday internet order. While i'll still be able to pick up the bits I want for the BBVC, it would have been lovely to put faces to Ann and Andy and to have a chat with some enthusiasts. My own friends look at me a little funny when I tell them I'm into Lego again for the first time since childhood!

Once we settle into a routine (about 3 months-ish when my son started sleeping through the night) I intend to find an event or two to attend. I'm no purist either so reinforcements are on the way, just slowly.

I know exactly how it is... my kids are slightly older now so I have an easier time (yes it does get easier!). My suggestion would be to put the first weekend (roughly) in October in your diary for probably the biggest UK event arranged by the Brickish Association, which is Steam in Swindon. The displays are excellent and there is no shortage of fellow enthusiasts to chat with. Last year the only trading was done by Lego themselves, however I know that Andy and Ann are looking to see if they can have a store themselves.

Anyway I hope we get the opportunity to meet and discuss all things Brickarms and Lego.
