As you might know BA revealed a new gun. Introduced as a 'top secret item' it seems to be referred to as STG-44 (or Sturmgewehr - the infamous prototype of Kalashnikov line of guns: AK-47, AK-74, Saiga etc..). I feel bad for introducing and publishing an image as the honor should belong to the creator, but I must share the beauty of this creation. I, personally think that this is a true masterpiece from BA. Although, retired MP5 holds a special place in my heart, I do believe that this gun can be named THE ULTIMATE BA RIFLE. It is 1 5/16 inches in length vs. AK-74 that is 1 1/16 inches. Also, when looking straight at the gun one would see that the gun has a more rounded profile then AK-74. The gun would make an excellent base for a (RPK - Kalashnikov Machine Gun) if anybody would dare to use a knife on this beauty. or perhaps for the next generation of Kalashnikov guns: Abakan

Got it. Thanks for the corrections. I found another thread HERE that has a great picture of what the original gun is. I'll edit my post to correct the error. I would suggest though that this gun can be an excellent base for mods if one would want to make AK-107, Abakan or PK.

To clarify on the MP STG heading, it originally had the MP designation because Hitler hadn't wanted this new kind of weapon. I t was then changed to STG, a much more accurate heading, literally meaning. "Storm Weapon" In any case, technically both headings are accurate because they were both used, but STG is much better.

Actually Hitler didn't want the Allies to think the gun was weak for being a mache pistol. Great review, except for the mistakes.;) "Oh and Staff Sergeant Johnson? When you get a chance, pull over. The Russians were heavily influenced by the design of the STG/MP series, hence the similarities between the two.

Very true, 60 years later you can still easily see the resemblance between Stg-44 and the AK line of guns.
