I removed and attached that drum a few times during the convention, and I must have put it in the opposite side at some point. Still, it fits equally well on either side of the MG42 and Combat LMG, so folks can put it where ever they like!

I remember that. You kept taking it off, and had trouble putting it back in. "That's why they're still prototypes." ;) -Jeff http://100thbg.org/: My grandpa fought in World War II. pathwalker wrote:Is that drum gripable? Will it ever be? At the Con, badger said that the drum was something that you threw together really quickly when there was enough mold space for something small. -Jeff http://100thbg.org/: My grandpa fought in World War II. I would love to see a drum mag for this. But i think it would be hard to make it gripable 'coz its a drum. Unless it could be made like the Ppsh-41's mag...?

I just don't think the ammo chain fits the MG42 feel for me.
Check out my Flickr! Last updated: October 19th, 2009. No big MOCs from me for a while, I've got a vignette I'm working on, and it's using my best pieces.

So hold on, would the drum fit onto an M4? That seems as though it would work perfectly for a "C Mag".

A definite BAP-favorite of mine! Why, you ask? Well, I've handled the 7.62 x 51 mm version, the MG3, during my time in the army. I've seen hundreds of tracer rounds fly through that weapon in seconds (1200 rounds per minute..)! Looked like a scene from Star Wars! ;) They are almost identical, except for the chambering. And yeah, I think the MG3 has got a more durable recoil spring as well.. Anyhooow.. This would be quite useful for some interesting cold war scenarios, involving Norwegian troops versus the Russians. Edit: Nice picture of the Norwegian version, mounted on a Norwegian armored vehicle. Notice the red ammo belt, which are Norwegian plastic blanks, and the blank firing attachment at the muzzle.

I think. ;) A better picture: I didn't create a separate thread for that item because at this point, it's more of a rough concept than a prototype. Will had some extra space in a prototype mold, took a few minutes to throw together something ammo drum-ish, and added it to that mold. It's a very, very, very rough idea at this point, something akin to the very early, very rough version of the MGL that was shown at Brickworld 08. We'll have to see what Will has planned for it! I know, I'm late, :P But I think an MGL barrel would work as a stand in. Any thoughts?

It puts quite a bit of stress on the clip.
