I am saying that the overall stock design would be similar to that of the wirestock, except thicker, and missing the bottom part...

And on the subject of the M1A1, I find they look similar, I'm using my black M1A1 as an M14, and with a grenade launcher, it looks pretty close to the real thing. ^ I think the M1A1 prototype is too big and bulky like its cousin the M1 Garand. The M14 EBR should be more sleek and elegant not large and mega-powerful-looking. < ( Ha Ha )

Ohhhhh...YES! I've always wanted a powerful tactical rifle, and this matches up perfectly! If one was ever to be made, a grippable handle would probably fit the look. As a plus, it would look very cool.

I'm no fan of this idea to be honest. Now whilst I may be a simple WW2 man, I know a fair amount on modern weapons and such. I have to agree with the earlier comments made that taking the M14 and adding all this excess furniture it does ruin the originality of the weapon. I feel that it would be a very clunky BA weapon that would look far too similar to the BAR or a possible FN FAL, the gun of NATO and one that has more right, IN MY EYES ONLY, to be made into a BA. That's my tuppence. I just love the old school version of the M14 too much to see it turned into this, gadget laden block of a gun. -Sir Norman "Looks like we finally found something your good at Private Pyle!" Ray.

-Sir Norman "Looks like we finally found something your good at Private Pyle!" Ray. I like to think of it as completely separate from the original M14 and the only similarity is that it shares the name.

^I do too, I mean, I am fine with your opinion Norman, but I see it as an updated version, that is good not only for modern warfare, but also for sci fi...

And surely the same operating system on the blowback, otherwise it really WOULD be a completely different rifle. And also the same round and magazine size surely? In fact, this is nothing more then an M14 that was tortured by some looney who decided that good old fashioned wood was as useful as cheese in a mousetrap. Without the last full round battlerifle of the USA, M14, this strange creature of plastic and metals wouldn't exist. They are the same gun. Much like the AK74 and AK47 are the same. As previously stated, this thing would end up looking so blocky, there would be practically no difference between the FN FAL or BAR. Sometimes the oldies are the best. Let us not forget that the AK74 was defeated by a bunch of farmers and militants armed with Lee Enfields. -Sir Norman "So old, yet so young. The M14 and the Mk 14 only share a few parts in common, including the barrel assembly (not including the muzzle break/flash hider), the magazine/ ammuntion type, and firing system (including the charging handle); and perhaps a few other subtle commonalities. Not that I don't think they're both still M14's. I really don't see how you can think it looks like a FN FAL or B.A.R., but everyone has their opinions. I said that I like to think of it as different especially in terms of looks. Also I find the EBR to be very unique in it's ascetics and therefore a good accessory for BA.
