Hi! Is there going to be an Apocalego display at Brickfair. If so, what is it comprised of?

Yes there is! It is organized by Carter and Robby. I am participating in this display as well.

Indeed, I am the ApocaLego coordinator at BrickFair! We're doing a large collaborative layout using the general road design here. Buildings are also welcome as long as they are on 32x32 baseplates and the edges are elevated to meet the surface of the road (3 bricks and 1 plate above the surface of the baseplate)

There are some good examples here, here and here.

All are welcome to contribute (so long as the building and road modules fit the standard), and there will be space allotted to vehicles and vigs that don't fit into the layout. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, either in this thread, through PM, or through FM on flickr.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at BrickFair!

And just to make things even more fun, Will's put together a fun, exclusive pack for folks that contribute to this great community build:

Just so we're clear on the pack name, I couldn't call it "ApocaLego", since that might get the LEGO company peeved to see it in print, on a pack from me. ;)

BrickFair is intended as a place to display your creations, not a place to build them.

I'm considering to enter this event small by starting small. Is it ok to make and contribute something small though?

I love the pack label you have the big bold writing and then on the top you have the ritzy words limited edition.

All creations are welcome at the ApocaLego tables, but I can't guarantee that everything will be able to fit in the layout itself. Lots of people are bringing vehicles, and we'd like to keep the city looking destroyed and desolated, not like gridlock at rush hour!

I'd like to remind people that it's exceedingly important to register any MOCs you plan on bringing on the BrickFair website.

Also, Carter will have only 25 packs to give out. If there are more contributors than packs, he will give them out based on his assessment of your level of contribution to the project. If you think you can just bring a minifig and get a pack, that is probably not going to happen.

Yes, as Will said, the packs are mainly for the people who have built road and building segments according to the standard we have emplaced.

Will any of the weapons in the Apocalego Pack be available for sale individually for those who might contribute but not be chosen for the entire pack?

Question: on a 32x32 base plate should it be all road or all building or a mix? I have both buildings and a road on mine, but am wondering how others do it. Is there a place for a solid outline of the rules?

This is a great idea! I had a ton of fun building this weekend! The most fun I've had building in awhile. I'd encourage everyone to build some buildings/roads for this, it requires some great creativity and sure is enjoyable!

I'm not Will, but my assumption is no. The Apocalego pack is unique to those of whom, participate in the display.

EDIT: Notice how it says "Contributers" weapon pack.

There is a chance that there will not be space on other peoples roads and building so if you want to contribute than you should make your own road section unless you have already talked to someone about it.
