I am looking forward to this weapon! I think I'll be placing another Brickarms order in November, as I have a new tv to pay for.
Let's get Ziggy with it!

Hidden sniper, unseen by anyone; the team's sniper with HCSR fires at the wall that he thinks the enemy sniper is behind and a satisfying splatter of blood is heard.

The more I see this weapon the more I get the impression it would look good with the barrel shortened as an Assault Weapon. Mind you I think it will look pretty good on the bipod with the full barrel as well.

If this were shortened, and the scope was removed, I see this as being some insane shotgun, more than an Assault Carbine. And yet, I still see this as being too short. Every time I see this picture; I can't help but wonder why it's the smallest sniper, when the weapon it's based on is about 10 inches longer than the other two (respective order to that picture, the counterparts are 57, 48 and 44). I know I've said this before, and I don't want to sound tiresome, or even rude, because what Will does is absolutely fantastic, and I've loved every one of his products, but seeing it up there, with the other two, it doesn't look quite right, as though it's out of proportion, and that the fore grip and barrel should be extended by a bit. Having said that, reading back through some of the thread, a couple of pages back Badg' said that the HCSR is bigger than the M21. Is that bulk-wise, or is that picture not to scale? Because it may turn out I'm complaining about nothing, and who knows, I may... scratch that, will love this, but will this irk me forever, or will I cherish it forever? I don't mean to drag on, but if it is shorter than the other two, what was the main reasoning behind the choice? Cheers.

But it would make a cracking assault weapon . Actually you could swipe a bit from the barrel of one making the assault version and add it to another making a longer barrel.
Sneaky huh?

Bulk-wise. Admittedly, I was just basing my statement on memory, and thought the HCSR was longer, just for how much more massive it is. I don't mean to drag on, but if it is shorter than the other two, what was the main reasoning behind the choice? You're right to think that scale is very much an important issue. However, the issue of scaling is made on a accessory-by-accessory basis; some need to be scaled up a bit, some scaled down. It's all a question of getting the right details to pop, the proper points to be grippable, and getting an overall size that's loosely consistent with other minifig accessories. Generally speaking, the HSCR and PSR are scaled to be larger rifles. So is the M21, but it's somewhat larger because it was born from an M1 Garand cavities that was recut into the M21. Of the hundreds of folks that saw the HSCR at Brickfair, I don't recall anyone having an issue with its scale. Once you get it in hand, I think all your worries will be put to rest!

Well, look at the M1911. It is as big as a 'figs leg. As Will has said before, it is nearly impossible to make anything for Lego's that is to scale.

This proto is lookin' great. Very nice work, Will. I agree with some of the previous posts that the scope should be raised up a bit though.
Check out my Flickr! Last updated: October 19th, 2009. No big MOCs from me for a while, I've got a vignette I'm working on, and it's using my best pieces.

This would look great in a post-apoc squad that I've been working on. I can't wait to see these in mass-production and I wish you luck with the sale of these beautiful items.

And now that I own one (Thanks to thew wonderful zombie hunter figs), I can really appreciate it, its a perfect weapon for both modern, and sci-fi warfare. It looks great with a Bi-Pod, and even better with the Master Cheif fig (Halo Sniper.) So basically, Beatiful weapon Perfect design And 100% pure awesomeness. 10/10 Los Legolas Fire & Rescue Los Legolas Police Dept Max Ammo! JUICE! - Tank Dempsey
