The weapon is bullpup configuration. Its functional barrel is about the same as comparable service weapons its just behind the trigger instead of infront of it.
The Brickarms version is very true to the original.

The barrel of the FN P90 (I'm not saying that this is a P90, it's just I thought the weapon that we were all referring to was the P90. You also provided a picture of one ) is quite short, making the bullet have less of a chance hitting the target. That's why SRs have long barrels; so they can be very accurate over a long range. The barrel is the same length as that of the M16 (some varients not all) as far as I know (which admittedly is spray and pray). The barrel starts behind the rear hand grip and is a pretty standard length for a carbine/short rifle. But it can't be that accurate as a weapon because Bruce Willis never gets hit. (Running gag)

It's just a teeney tiny flash hider, as shpwn if Badger's above picture. We may be talking about a different weapon, though. I think there is a cutaway diagram somewhere out there that shows how the inside of one of these is laid out
The firing assembly is right in the back (behind the grips) the ammo feed runs towards the user.
When a shot is fired it travels the length of the weapon (less about 10%) and travels down an internal barrel.
I have never actually seen one of these up close but I have seen other bullpup configuration weapons and they are actually not much different in performance from older styles.
They do however look slightly odd on guard outside Buckingham palace.

To be honest it doesn't matter at all.
Just gun talk between people with an interest in Guns I guess.
Its a bad habit of mine to provide more data than required I fear.
Its a nice little weapon (the prototype) And its accuracy or not depends on the man firing it more than the barrel im sure (one of my minifigs has an eyepatch and a hook hand I doubt he can hit the broadside of a barn)

MOD - Folks, remember, we're talking about BrickArms MINIFIG ACCESSORIES around here. Any discussion about real-life firearms apart from aesthetics is off-topic and irrelevant.
Stick to talking about the Combat PDW as a minifig accessory, please!

I love this gun! I just got it from brickcon today and think it is almost as good as the hightcalibre sniper rifle.

I got this at BrickCon two days ago (thanks badger!), and it is much better than I expected, it works well for post apocalypse as well as modern 'figs/dioramas. As for Corner Gas Man and pathwalker, it doesn't need to be accurate for two reasons; one, it's a Personal Defense Weapon, not a Personal Offensive Weapon, and two; it's a Lego accessory, and anything it fired would be way to small to matter.
