Finally succumbed to the urge and pulled out my trusty Olfa blade. It was super easy to remove the scope and light and now it looks like a AK on steroids! I actually like it more than the original BA AK and that is very high praise indeed.

I just can't decide whether I like this gun or not. I'm mean, I like the design of the gun itself, it's awesome, but I just can't decide about the scope and night vision. Before I saw this prototype a few days ago, I didn't even know that the Mp44 could be equipped with all that stuff. I guess it's alright; I think that it would look a little boring without that stuff. So, I guess to sum up my thoughts so far: I do like it. I think the scope and IR light give it extra. You could always remove them. Aaron, could you post a picture of the modified MP44?

Did you know that the Vampyr weighed about 35-40 lbs, not including ammunition and the backpack with the battery? No wonder these guys only had about 300 of them.

Will wrote:Homiealmaya wrote:Is that flashlight removable? Yes, with clippers or a blade. If you sanded down the rough edges, are the scope and light the right sizes to connect back together with a U-Clip? That would be really useful. Anyways, I really like this gun, and can not wait for it to see production. I think it looks very suiting for a German WWII soldier, and creates many MOCing possibilities for night-battles.

It doesn't even need to be sanded that much; just make sure your cut is clean and tight, and you can start attaching the scope and/or light with a U-Clip right away!

BTW, Will, could you post some CAD renderings of the StG-44?
