A bit late to comment, but I'll throw in my 2 cents anyway. I'm a big fan of this weapon-- the details ( grooves in the magazine, etc.) really add a new dimension to it all. At first, I thought the Night-Vision piece was a bit "chunky", and made the weapon unneccesarily bulky. The more I look at this weapon, however, the more I like it. Cant wait to see one of these in real life! Trying, and failing is much better, than not trying at all.My Flickr Photostream

If they took off the light, it wouldn't be a "Vampir"

I've actually tried to cut the mag off, and while it worked well, it needed to be cut down a bit before it looked good. And then it didn't look right on other weapons, so if you do it, make sure it's what you want to do. No pressure... ;) -Jeff http://100thbg.org/: My grandpa fought in World War II. I think it could be smaller, as I found it inproportionatly large, compared to other brickarms items. otherwise a solid design.

It kills me to say even the slightest negative thing about a BAP, but I really don't like this one. As much as the STG44 is awesome, the Vampir mod just looks kind of silly as a minifig weapon. Maybe as a mod of an existing BA STG44, but I wouldn't buy it as its own item. However, this isn't a complaint about the Brickarms version; I don't like the look of the real MP44 Vampir. Finally seeing this in the flesh... or plastic, whatever, I take back all reservations I had about this weapon. I love it, it's perfect, and I think it looks just great with the scope and light. I hope it doesn't get changed, it's awesome.

After looking at this for a long time, I've decided that the "Vampir" part on top isn't too large. In fact, the infrared light actually looks too small compared tosome pictures I've seen! This is oficially my new 4th favourite prototype! (First is Combat PDW, the HCSR, then AC8, then this.) awesome! My new favorite BA weapon so far. Remove the the scope though and it will be perfect. But I guess I could always do that myself.
Now remember kids, the blast radius of a grenade is always one foot more than your jumping distance.

A great addition. I like the overall shape and dimensions of the weapon but maybe removing the NV will give it more of a streamlined feel. Did they even have Night vision in WWII? My Flickr My Brickshelf

As has been mentioned a few times now, the Vampir version of the MP44 was indeed a real-life WWII firearmDidn't necessarily see much (if any) action, but it just looked too cool for Will to pass up. Not to mention the fact that if you choose to clip them off, the scope and IR lamp can be attached to anything you like via the U-Clip
