Hi,

One of the most well respected units in the British military is the SAS or 'The Regiment' as some of these guys refer to it as. One of the amazing things about these guys is that for incredibly capable soldiers and lethal killing machines they can be very humble guys. I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with some of them and you could not ask to meet nicer people.

Anyway here is my rework of an old SAS fig using an grenade launcher attachment on a Brickarms SMG:

The mask is something I found a long time back and have no idea of the origins.

I hope you like.

Nice job Jasbrick, I can't believe I'm the first post!
Those are some good SAS, and in real life they love the MP5!

Wow! I absolutely love the M203 on the MP5, and the armor looks fantastic! I'm really digging the paint job on the helmet, makes it look sort of special ops. Nice use of the flashbang, looks great!
Can't wait for more! :)

http://100thbg.org/: My grandpa fought in World War II. Here's the Bomb Group he was in. He was in the airforce, and survived the war. On the website, you can read up on the missions, see pictures, and learn some history. He's still living today, at 93 years old. :)

What!? Known and worked with? Awesome, dude. Very awesome.

And the fig, awesome too. I love the gas mask.

Check out my Flickr! Last updated: October 19th, 2009. No big MOCs from me for a while, I've got a vignette I'm working on, and it's using my best pieces.

Well done! Does the SAS really use those masks, or is it just Sci-Fi?

Great fig! Who's the guy(s) from the SAS you knew? I read this site about the SAS and they go through some extremely tough training. I liked reading about operation Nimrod (yes, laugh at the name), which was the hostage situation in an embassy in Britain. Perhaps you will make a vig?

This is awesome! I've got a question, does anyone know if you can successfully mix Citadel paints?

What did you have in mind with that? I've painted all my custom Lego work with citadel colors and the look good. Just dont forget to seal bricks after they are cured/dry. Otherwise you will scratch down the color (especialy if you use those bricks for play) and you will ahve to repaint it again.

@jasbrick
This is outstanding work. And even better;you have choose SAS and not rangers or seals or D Force. 5/5 for idea and final outcome.

Excelent figure Jasbrick! A truely awesome piece of work from you! Most unfortunate that you don't know the orgins of that mask though. I'm rather curious.

When you said you've worked with members of the SAS, do you mean Sir Norman Ray. He's been in a lot of places you know!

Well, I don't have any greens right now so for example mixing ultramarine blue with a shade of yellow.

I've been a longtime fan of your work, but because of school and work I haven't had as much time to be an active participant within these forums. This is a great figure and I love the cohesiveness of all the various elements. It is a wonderful representation!
