the enigma that is badger wrote:Although in all honesty, WWII scenes are something we've all certainly seen a good deal of on this board. It's natural, given all the great WWII accessories that Will offers, but then for a contest, the more creative and surprising the theme of the MOC, the better chance it has to catch the judges' eyes! Does this mean we have a better chance of winning, if we don't do WWII? - You may have noticed, I like WWII. :P There are some great action scenes in Saving Private Ryan etc. Thanks ~Milan Flickr - MOCpages - YouTube - My Omaha Beach! Corner Gas Man wrote:AWESOME! What happens if someone's already done your movie, though? Can there be two vigneittes from the same movie, or will you have to think of another? Multiple members can use the same film and scene. Of course, you'll want to make sure you build in a way that's interesting and distinctive if you're going to build a vig that others might be doing as well!Madgio wrote:Does this mean we have a better chance of winning, if we don't do WWII? - You may have noticed, I like WWII. :P Not exactly; what I meant was that while WWII films are certainly a great source of inspiration, something outside of the usual themes of vigs that are posted on the board could be more attention-grabbing. Still, the criteria as listed in the rules is what will be used in terms of judging of this contest

^^ So you're saying that while World War II movies are great, something like Sci-Fi, or action could be a better choice? Because mine's based off Saving Private Ryan, which is my favorite movie. I think it had a lot of inspiration in it, and I like it a lot. Does this mean that my entry won't be judged a well as others? I'm confused here.
Can't wait!

Ok, so I'm good with mine for now. :) Will the Moderators get to enter? Because they all make a lot of awesome stuff? I'd like to see some awesome vignettes from them. Thanks again!

I'd still like to see a few Moderators build one, but I guess not enter since they can't. :P -Jeff

Um, I have a question. If I have something in the air but it has some overhang like say a low flying airplane about 6 bricks above the ground with a wing say maybe 4 or five studs off of the baseplate, would you get disqualified? MOCPages Youtube My MiniCity My Blog My Flickr

Man! There are so many good movies out there, I don't know which to choose! I'm going back and forth between about 4 different movies! the enigma that is badger wrote:TV movies and miniseries are fine, so long as they aren't simply extensions of an existing show So movies like Stargate: Continuum and Stargate: Ark of Truth wouldn't be allowed, but the original Stargate movie with Kurt Russel and James Spader would be allowed? Great idea! Good luck to those participating, and I can't wait to see what I'll be going up against. I certainly have some ideas! Trying, and failing is much better, than not trying at all.My Flickr Photostream

I just thought of something, does Generation Kill count as a TV movie? There are 7 episodes, each and hour and a half long, and it's based off a book.
