I built this about a month ago, but never got to posting it here until now. It's loosely based off of the first level in the ODST video game: your character crash-lands in the middle of the city at night. It's just you and a bunch of bad guys lurking in the shadows. I used BrickArms extensively in this diorama, so let's go a bit more in-depth. Here's an overall night shot. You see the crash site, a Jackal sniper perched on top of a building, a shop, an intersection, and our ODST buddy taking in his surroundings. The most obvious BrickArms accessory in the scene is the M23 sidearm our hero holds in this rather cinematic shot. The SNOT design of the road made it difficult to place a single upward facing stud: simply a 1x1 brick with hole and a half-pin caused too much free movement, and a headlight brick recessed the foot into the road or elevated it too high. My solution? A BA flashbang inside a headlight brick: it fit perfectly into the foot and allowed a controllable degree of rotation. Please excuse the blurry photo and my giant index finger. The shop has a set of steps with a railing. The railing is held up by monopods in 1x1 cones and is tipped with a minigun handle at the end. If you've ever played the game, you know that the New Mombasa Advertising Commission must make a fortune: the city is covered with all manner of electronic billboards and signs. I originally wanted to recess the SAR into the sign, but took the easy way out and clipped it on with a monopod instead. I wanted the studs on this skyscraper to face down, but I still wanted the tiles on the top railing to face up. Enter the handy U-clip flip. Don't mind the Jackal: he was a bit thrown-together and I have a version 2 that I'll post later, but it is worth mentioning that he uses two gunmetal and two brown monopods in his construction and wields a BrickArms Premium energy pistol. Another notable game detail are the creepy security cameras that watch your every move. The ones in the game look like an eyeball attached to a 90's telephone, but I opted for a more recognizable version. It's attached to the lamp-post with a friction pin, TLC Agents pistol, and a black monopod. Don't fall asleep, guys, I'm almost done. For those of you who haven't seen my drop pod, it uses two U-clip flips in its construction. But before you go clicking links, here's a shot of the crashed pod with one of the two u-clips exposed, and another guest appearance by my index finger. Finally, the little lost Grunt alien in the corner. He carries a Premium needler and is built with lots of gunmetal monopods. Here he is in the scene: And here's an exploded view. Take into account that this is an older version, and I have a new one that I'll post when I get to it. I count nine gunmetal monopods. That wraps it up. Sadly, this scene used a ton of parts, and it may have to come down soon. But thanks for looking, and comments and questions are welcome. And as the signature says:

Awesome! The whole thing looks like it was taken out of the game, really nice work on the details and the city, the ODST could have looked better though, but sadly for us there has not been made an ODST armor set yet =( but otherwise i love the scenario....oh yeah and i love your grunt hehe

Wow. I had just been playing ODST the other day too. The second picture made me think of the music that plays during that mission, and now I wanna play... Great job, but maybe add more debris, like a paper or two on the ground.

This is the BEST Halo diorama- scratch that, the best Halo Lego creation I've ever seen. Great work on buildings, figs and everything else. Thanks for the kind words, everybody! Hawkeye: It's not coming down right away: I still need to finish my movie contest entry. But it will come down eventually: as I said before, I have something even bigger planned, and I'll need every part I can get my hands on for that.
