He found a way to make the helmet in this case. Most likely it's simplicity helped him design it well, as it doesnt actuall go over a minifig head like other helmets, just sits on top.

Good point. It isn't as deep as other helmets.

awesome helmet. now i can complete my WWII british soldiers gear. I dont support the idea of a sten because i made a sten out of a TLC carbine and it looks awesome. I also made a bren.

will the helmet be flat, or will there be a tilt to it?

From the looks of the picture posted on page one, it appears to lie flat on the soldiers head. So when it rains, water wont trickle down his back.

When I grew up, I used to read a lot of comic books first printed back in the 50s or so. They were always something epic to do with war, with cartoons and stories, either real, fiction or just plain daft. I think I saw that in there once. I know for a fact, that according to Desperate Dan, British soldiers used their helmets to boil water for tea. (Dan's hair was so spikey, it burst footballs (soccer) so he stole a soldiers helmet (in the crowd) and his hair ended up making it into sieve. Ah, the joys of being a child.)

I have one and I can tell you it is quite tight on the head. You could turn the fig upside down and shake him and it would still be one.

It is much like GLs design here:

Yes, for this design, Will did make use of core-cavity molding which is what I believe is being pictured here. However, to be clear, the design of the BrickArms Brodie helmet is completely Will's work and no one else's.

Don't worry, the Brodie will definitely see mass production. When that will be is very much in flux, but it will happen.

Can't wait for this to be produced, as I can finally finish my WWII British Soldiers from Africa/Egypt (I've forgotten the name).

My guess is Will might be producing a Minifig to go alongside the release for the helmet, and maybe some other accessories, though, I can't remember if there's any actual British WWII gun's made/and or being produced.

I think he may do that too. The onlyone I know of is the lewis gun, which is still in prototype mode as far as I know.

Trying, and failing is much better, than not trying at all.

It won't be at BrickVention at all, in all likelihood. Will cannot attend a convention outside the US at this time, and BrickArms no longer has an Australian re-seller. Further, the Brodie is only in prototype phase. It is not for sale -at all- at this time. When/if it is finished and produced, it would be available for sale on the website like most everything else.
