Badger, Can you comment on the colors that a production Brickarms Brodie might be available in? Of course we all are expecting tan or dark tan. My interest is that in the absence of available M1 helmets, Brodie helmets in Dark Green, OD, sand green, or even brown, could suffice for US troops in WW2, until a source for M1's becomes available.
And of course, WW1 US troops could make use of green Brodies.

This is truly a great creation from the garages of Will. I am so happy I picked a Tommy up at Brickfair this year.

Will: One thing I remember you commenting on in regards to the Brodie was that the pressure applied to the mold wasn't enough to ensure that the two sections held together to create a perfect Brodie, that you ended up having to trim some results. Is this because you happen to be just using your home injection system at the moment, which I remember you seemed to have attatched an old fashioned water pump lever on to apply more weight and pressure to the mold? (which your friend said was wrong, but you laughed in his face and the face of science and did it anyway) Or is it more a problem with the mold right now and sending it off for mass production of Brodies, Dog food bowls and bowler hats would result in a similar effect? Sorry, its just been something thats been on my mind for the last few weeks. -Sir Norman "Hey, an almost completely sensible post! Somebody take a screenshot!" Ray.

Not quite. It was the fact that I made my own plug insert (the head part), and the tolerances were not..good, resulting in gaps that allowed the plastic to flash (creep between the mold face and the plug), resulting in the ridges of plastic that need to be trimmed. Sir Norman Ray wrote:..which I remember you seemed to have attatched an old fashioned water pump lever on to apply more weight and pressure to the mold? Yes, I have a long steel pipe in place of the wimpy aluminum (sorry, "aluminium") handle that sheared off during a marthon injecting session last year. Actually, the 'dog food bowls' and 'bowler hats' reference pretty much guaranteed insensibility, but nice try. ;)

Ahhhh, I see. And I assume that until that is rectified, the mold will continue to act like a bad "waffle" maker, with the "waffle" stuff flowing out. Will wrote:Yes, I have a long steel pipe in place of the wimpy aluminum (sorry, "aluminium") handle that sheared off during a marthon injecting session last year. Blooming well right you should be sorry! We throw those extra letters in for a reason. Honestly, there's just no colourful honour with Americans, nor is there valour in your attempt to pronounce herbs. (As Eddie Izzard put it it, you pronounce it 'erbs, we pronounce it herbs, because theres a h in it! TO an audience in San Francisco.) But I do have this mad little image of you Will, pumping this lever up and down like some old fashioned farmer. "Ye-haw! I'm making guns or churning butter and I dun care!!" Anyway, come, come to me Brodie Helmet, I really need it. When the beating of your heart truely demands it, when the flapping wings of the Butterfly match that of a hummingbird, when all wrong's are righted and all right's are wronged, when Hollywood makes both a decent British and Soviet Battle movie and when I run out of insanity. The answer is who the fluff knows. Just wait and pray, like I do. -Sir Norman "Sacrifices three LEGO clone brands nightly to his idol of badger, sculpted from a raven, to get his wish" Ray.

Sir Norman Ray, your posts are the best. Sacrificing lego clone brands.... whats next? MEGABLOK guns? Not a bad idea, actually....
Anyway, the Brodie is a nice helmet. Seeing one gives me an intense desire to paint one in camo colors. When these come out, I'll buy at least 5, maybe 10.
For every brickarm created, there is a minifig who needs it.
