Okay, so we all know that the Sten has its infamous reputation right? It jammed a lot, went off to early, very inaccurate, prone to spontaneous combustion etc. Well, I found this video which shows that actually, its reputation is a bit wrong...
Also, can't remember if that vid was shown earlier...

In fact the Sten Gun was extremely reliable, due to the fact that it wasd only made of about 50 parts. Which made it a weapon of choice for undergroung operations in Occupied France. I think that the Sten Gun would be a brilliant addition to the BA Arsenal, and I hope that it becomes a reality soon.

On the Bren gun, I don't think that a BA official weapon would be neccesary. Because It's very easy to make a replica using an LMG and an AK mag, minus the distinctive carry handles though...

I thought that it had a famous reputation. Also it was one of the easiest SMGs to fire prone because of the sideways clip.

Well, I've only ever heard of people bad mouthing the gun, based on its accuracy, prone to jamming, poor safety option and a few other bits. Ambrose, the man who wrote Band of Brothers, D Day and Pegasus Bridge said in Pegasus Bridge it was a bad SMG. (Mind you, he also said the Bren was as well.)
I soppose it depends on where you hear it from.

You are probably right about "it depends on where you hear it from." Either way it was the only British SMG (that I know of) during WWII and anything was good if you had to produce it quickly and cheaply. Also its historical importance makes it a good suggestion for a BA gun.

Thompsons were used a bit too, but the sten is definately a more iconic submachine gun for British troops in my opinion.

Aye, thats true. Until we realised they were too expensive to buy, and the Resistance groups hated them.

I prefer the Sten MK I or MK IV, V, or MK VI. THey'd have more gripable areas if they were to adopted into the brick arms family

Great idea I love both of those guns and the sten could be used as a makeshift Type 100 for our WWII Japanese soldiers to use.

I think a Sten gun would be a great addition. The Sten gun was too important of a weapon in resistance groups not to be on Brickarms.

I 100% back the idea of a Sten.

i would definitly buy this weapon if it was produced. It's odd because of the magazine being on the top off the gun, thats why i like it.=D

I am a big fan of the sten gun. An iconic British weapon of WW2. Just been looking at the different versions. I like the Mk II with the skeleton stock. Would that stock be workable in minifig scale? Also the T stock. Also saw the interesting compact skeleton paratrooper stock.
I would love to see the sten take it's place amongst the Brickarms arsenal.

Erm, the magazine is on the side, traditionally held by the left hand of the gunner. You may be thinking of the German copy that was done late war.

The only thing I can think of similar with a mag on top is the Owens SMG (i think, Austrailian anyway)
I back the idea, its a nice weapon and we need more British weapons!
The problem of the mag on the side, if it hasnt been overcome could just be done similar to the PPSh, just on the side, could it not? Some sort of clip in piece

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

Me too!! I`m currently thirsting for more BA british weapons, because the Lewis gun and the Lee-enfield just don`t cut the mustard for me ;).
