Sergerant Joe wrote:That is the coolest thing ever. Although, will there be a place to mount a monopod or something? The entire barrel of the MG42, thought square, can accept a Monopod for mounting. Also, the rounded section just behind the muzzle is fully-grippable, allowing attachment of a Monopod or Bipod!

Hey, I just thought of something. Would it be possible to make a drum mag that would clip in the slot for an ammo belt? If so that would be totally cool.

As with the LMG, I don't love long guns with no long mag or foregrip if it has a pistol grip....the look just doesn't appeal to me. Then again, when the LMG is mounted on a bipod, I love nothing more, so I'll have to see how cool this looks on a bipod when it's released, eh :)

I just really love this gun, the MG42, hope it makes it on the mass production roster. :)

While playing a video game I noticed that the M60 looks a surprising amount like the MG42. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close. anyways, I wonder what fig this'll be with from Black Lodge. Normally badger does Terminator-related figs, but I don't think an MG42 was ever used in a Terminator movie. By far, my favourite BAP, this and the StG-44, and can this come with a tripod if Will could?

With all these posts, this could be a VERY popular Brickarms gun.
Let's get Ziggy with it!

Will had some extra space in a prototype mold, took a few minutes to throw together something ammo drum-ish, and added it to that mold. It's a very, very, very rough idea at this point, something akin to the very early, very rough version of the MGL that was shown at Brickworld 08. We'll have to see what Will has planned for it!

Skinny Boy wrote:Wheres the bipod? Ah well, still amazing. I think Will is certainly putting more than enough detail into these guns. Looks like there'll be another updated 'World at war' pack now. also where is the ammo belt for this particular gun. back when i visited another thread for the MG42, i saw an ammo belt sticking out the side where that hole is. o well the MG42 is good enough for me!

YES! I AM PHSYCIC! I predicted every single BA freebie I've ever gotten, the coming of the HCSR, AND this? Wow! Anyways, that drum is pretty sweet, but I would like it more if it was larger. Anyways, I can't wait until the MG42 comes out, but does this new drum prototype that obviously goes with the MG42 like peanut butter goes with jam make our wait for the MG42 to be mass-produced longer? Or will the drum be released (if it will be) after the MG42? "I reject your reality, and substitute my own."-Adam Savage Squad Leader of A-7-2(click the link) My Flickr. Will's still in the process of developing both the MG42 and the Ammo Drum, so it's impossible to say right now how and when either will be released. One neat thing - thanks to the fact the ammo slot on the MG42 and Combat LMG are identical, you'll be able to attach the Ammo Drum to either accessory!

Hey badger, in your pic the drum is on the wrong side of the MG42.
