the enigma that is badger wrote:WisrthanU wrote:I'm pretty sure Will made a few in rubber, to satisfy a certain someone... ;) Actually, Will did some testing with TPE rubber to see if it would work for production runs. It just . . . didn't work. Turned out to be TOO flexible and connecting it into the LMGs was nigh impossible. If TPE has a lower melting point than ABS plastic, why not mold the tab for connecting to the LMG with the core of the first bullet in ABS, and then overmold the rest of the chain in TPE, with the outside of the first bullet in TPE so that it stayed together in one piece?
Does it ever seem that the intelligent parts of posts are the parts ignored?

So, I don't understand, are these shells/ammo chains larger than the prototype ammo chain? It looks much larger...

I really like this it has many applications with modern and sci-fi.. I was wondering how it worked with the minigun, are there any pictures anywhere? Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. My FlickrAircraft Noseart

Please note that these rounds are roughly the size of the rockets that come with the bazooka. So for the handheld minigun, they'll be too large. However, for a mecha sized Minigun, it's a dream come true. As they always say... If you can't beat them, Then self-detonate, and take them ALL WITH YOU!!!Edges Synthos CorpBLUB BLUB

BazookaMonkey wrote:Very useful, but seems a bit...big. It is, yes. You will find that the minigun prototype and many other minifig-portable items now use a smaller, more proportionately-sized set. That said, larger chains like these work quite well as ammunition for larger MOCs e.g. AA cannons, mechas. Enlist in Alpha Company today! I've heard that Will isn't going to produce these.

Will wasn't happy with the design, and while he does have some neat ideas for shotguns, that particular version of a sawed-off shotgun will never see production. And look how far that item has now come. Back on topic, i think this is a neat prototype. I think they would go well with brickmania's WWII tanks. as seperate shells and as ammo chains.
